OP...you can buy combibars of 1 gram bricks × 100 or 1000 on any major online dealer. GoldenState is best for fractional...1/10, 1/4 oz rounds at very reasonable rates. Get it while you can. Things moving fast. Last Edited by GorillaGripPussyPal on 10/25/2021 10:21 AM |

Expecting to trade silver or gold for anything once the supply lines are cut indefinitely means you fucked up when normal commerce was possible. You won't possibly have enough to catch up. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 81048164 United States 10/25/2021 10:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | People who have stocked up on lots of food will surely give a small portion of it up for some valuable silver. People who know how to grow or hunt their food, will also surely accept valuable silver for a portion of their food. Silver (and gold) will ALWAYS be accepted for essential goods, unless the ground no longer can produce food, or wild animals completely cease to exist. I will happily sell a can of tuna or cup of rice for several ounces of silver after SHTF. I agree with you. After reading “One Second After” I decided to stock up on cigarettes and I don’t smoke. Chance are somebody will want to trade them for something. Thats a clever idea actually. After a few days without cigarettes, a smoker will do almost anything to get their nicotine fix. |
Sandless Coward User ID: 72198220 Australia 10/25/2021 10:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's a pretty good chance you won't be flaking off silver to pay for anything. Mostly using either 1oz coins or just cutting them up into quarters. If you need to go lower just cut that piece in half. The only thing you would need shavings for would probably be if you were buying a little dime bag of beach sand. If you only have giant chunks then get a knife. Or a metal wedge and a hammer but silver is pretty malleable at room temp so just get to chopping. Godspeed brother or sister, mother or father, whoever you are to me. A world where supply lines are still running with gold/silver waiting won't be allowed to happen.. that is, unless the nwo wants to drain everyone of their metals and not give it back.. And then chip you. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80866441 and a smelter A simple crucible will work. Remember to stock up on casting wax, and unused plaster for your varied jewelry designs. As well as sheets of silver solder for your trade rings. If they outlaw possession of gold or silver, it's unlikely that they will likewise outlaw gold or silver jewelry. Unfortunately, by law you can't alter coin by grinding or melting them down, but unneeded wedding bands are fair game. Also, don't the old time favorite, silver spoons. User ID: 79541506 United States 10/25/2021 12:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have rolls of junk silver coins like dines and quarters and halfs and silver dollars. Not sure about coinage from other countries, but US coins are protected by law to NOT be ground down, or melted down. Besides modern US coins are a recycling nightmare. They're made from different nearly worthless metals all clad together, whose only future use could be for subway tokens or slot machines. No such thing as junk US coins. Even if the country goes into restructuring mode after a bankruptcy and collapse, the coin as well as the paper dollar are worth what is printed or engraved upon them. However, the inflation rate applied for exchange may vary widely. "Good Queen Sarah, protect us from the black dog, King" - from the play, Dissocia "Never be anyone's French poodle." - Mr Hamilton |
