If you move the time bar forward, there's too much of a high-pressure ridge sitting under the low-pressure area over the next 36 hours to be much of a "atmospheric river." That's certainly the case for the southern part of the state. [link to weatherstreet.com (secure)] |

Everything User ID: 80628258 United States 10/24/2021 03:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sonoma County... Quoting: Travis Bickle Steady rain for a few hours now. I wouldn't call it a "Downpour" but it's raining pretty good. My son left for Santa Cruz about an hour and a half ago. I'm sure he's seeing the brunt of it. Nice. Sprinkles In San Jose. I hate rainshadows! I want to nuke the Santa Cruz mountains. It would not be against the Law of the Lord God to move them, or remove them, he said, if you had the faith of a mustard seed you could say to the mountain to remove itself and it would so get to saying to that mountain to remove itself. Or for someone to help move it, that dirt and rocks can build up the sea leave areas against flooding, or as a wall to the southern border. Never waste anything, this way it can be of use for things needed in more than one area. Leave some hill country. Sorry I got a headache These are the times that tries men's and women's souls! May we come though it victorious! |

Now whats that about a high pressure ridge. Did you get a good look at that satellite picture. That is a spinning low that takes up the entire coasts of Washington State Oregon and California. It is gigantic and it is sucking up moisture from the atmospheric river over the Pacific. But where I live it is crazy and it is currently raining in sheets. |

California does need a lot of moisture, so if the hysterics about "atmospheric river" are correct, so be it. I just recall seeing millibar charts in past years where the low-pressure zones were in a continuous band, moving west to east like a runaway train. and not as interspersed with high-pressure areas. |

My favorite tuxie cat. He lay down on a mat we keep for them on the covered walkway, soaking wet, waiting for me to feed him. I rushed out, no coat or hat, and fed him bowl after bowl, consoling him (he would never come into the house)... and then a transformer exploded on the main street. Lights out. Kitty fled into the atmospheric river. However the birds and squirrels are having a ball. Flying like show-offs in the fucking wind gusts. The birds took cover right up against the overhang of the back door. Stepped into a ton of slippery wet bird poop as I rushed out to feed the tux. |

It is literally a once in a century rainfall event. In Oct it's unheard of. If you lived in California you know that |

Just look at the fake shipping crisis. Not to mention all the food to export. Must suck living in a flyover state. Yeah, they don't realize the amount of food they depend on that is grown here Will this stop the drought? I've been in the big valley, a lot of food is grown there. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78063540 United States 10/24/2021 04:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | California is just one monumental disaster after another. Everything here is meant to burn. Stomping out the fires changes the soil PH. There's a fire... It's Your fault. Nothing grows right... It's Your fault. There's soil erosion... It's Your fault. It's a cycle of Flash Floods & Drought... It's Your fault. Let's never forget Tulare Lake, The largest lake this side of the Mississippi - Gone. I'm sure it was Your fault. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80589625 United States 10/24/2021 04:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If they cancel it for rain then what's left of the NFL is officially dead. It's in Santa Clara which has been spared from the worst so far. It doesn't start until 5:20 so we'll see. Hopefully it's bad and we lose so they fire Shanahan and Lynch Mac Jones for one 1st rounder OR Trey Lance for THREE 1st rounders. We mortgaged our future on a guy that can't throw a spiral and over throws 3 out of 4 passes. It's criminal what they did |

We are in a La Nina pattern for the winter which usually means less rain in California. This is out of the ordinary for la nina though. Hopefully these storm keep coming this winter |
