Starting to have steady rain here in Grass Valley where 7.5-10" of rain is expected in the next 36 hrs.

My son left for Santa Cruz about an hour and a half ago. I'm sure he's seeing the brunt of it.

Im at our vacation cabin near Big Trees state park in CA. Heavy, soaking rain for the last 10 hours. Not getting the crazy winds theyre talking about though.(yet). Supposed to continue unabated for another 24 hours. That MIGHT cause some problems...

Windy and raining

Here at the bottom of Mt Tamalpais and one rain gauge registered 11 inches since last night. Tamalpais creek is at its limit and just last week it was dry. Its supposed to rain hard into the night so we do expect flooding. In 30 years living here I have never seen this kind of rain in October. Usually we see rain like this in January or February even March but not so early. We really needed the rain and snow badly but now that we got it boy oh boy. Our neighbors pool was being remodeled and it was empty not no more. It is full to the top edge and that was from just 12 hours or so of rain. Thats hundreds of gallons of water to fill that pool. Needless to say it is getting biblical like Noah.
