Personally I could care less if they work or not. All I care about is making sure they are vaccinated one way or the other.

This is just so they can justify granting millions of illegal immigrants citizen status.

Pay someone a year+ to not work and you may find it hard to bring them back to the work force. Just wait until all these businesses start asking their employees to come back to work in the office after they’ve been working from home for 2 years now

This is a lie, I’m a business owner, this year has been incredibly difficult to find help I’ve paid close to $15,000 for help wanted adds throughout the year. Usually you put an add out and in one week you get 10-30 replies and 4-10 interviews and hire 1-3 people

This year you get 3-5 people per week calling set up interviews and you are lucky if 1 out of every 5 show up to the interview and if you hire someone you are lucky if they show up for their first day

Last position which is an unskilled labor position that pays $54,000 per year I spent 2 months probably set up 50 interviews met with maybe 10-12 people in interviews hired 8 of them and 3 showed up their first day and two of those 3 didn’t even finish their first week and just disappeared into thin air.

The restaurants around us are only open a few days a week and only at dinner now because they are so short staffed. The coffee shops are all drive through only because they only have 3 employees total not in a shift but total.

The restaurant my wife works at the owner has spent over $40,000 on employment adds this last year and still can’t hire people and can only open part time since she can’t work her current staff to death with OT

A lot of unemployment scams require people to just apply to jobs, but they don't have to actually try to take the job.

Migrants don't work.

They survive with free government housing, free health care (yes, free health care), free grocery money; even an allowance for spending money. Courtesy of our tax dollars.

For migrant's America is the shining city.

Until their children grow up and discover they are classified as citizens and receive none of Mom and Pop's benefits.

It actually makes sense.

It’s probably an illusion and in line with the - destroy the economy - agenda.

It’s easy to destroy an economy when you own everything.

Basically if you own a company you can claim you can’t find anyone to hire, then shut down it’s operations and let go to shit.

Or if it’s a public company you have to manage to take control of the board.

Our local crematorium was advertising for an assistant a while back at the end of lockdown, a neighbour applied for some trolling and asked about the work and if it had been busier lately. He was told there was less work recently.

I know where one is. She hasn't paid rent for many months and lives on the second floor of my apartment house. She has everything shipped to her and rarely leaves.

And EVERY place of business that I pass by, from school districts to restaurants to pet hotels to construction companies, ALL have help wanted signs on their windows. But they don't call you back when you apply or hire anyone.

It's the same in the UK and the reports aren't really painting the full picture. What's happening is that very well qualified but underpaid people ditched the roles during the lockdowns and have gone self-employed to make their own money.

A lot of bosses are trying to hire people of the same standard without realising that all the people of that standard are simply not on the job market anymore.

For example, they'll be hiring an office clerk on £20k/$27k a year but be asking for a degree qualification minimum OR with five years' experience, but everyone who fits that bill will not work for those wages and then set up as self-employed or go somewhere that will. Businesses need to lower their expectations or get ready to dish out high salaries to get what they want.

Additionally, lockdown has taught people how to live frugally without their daily dose of caffeine drink from some overpriced bar. It's not so much that they don't want to work any more, but they have simply de-learned being a 'consumer'. With all that money saved, they simply don't need to work themselves into an early grave for the latest overpriced gadgets and trinkets.

I tried to go to my local trash dump today- even they were closed due to lack of employees.

They usde to be open every day of the year except Christmas- now they're only operating M-F until 4 p.m.

So weird.

I'm working two jobs and my part time job begged me to come back after I quit and they gave me two raises in two months. They talked me into working on my days off this week because they can't get anyone to work.

What I don't get are all the people who've been saying they have filed dozens of job applications and not gotten back many responses from potential employers. So something isn't adding up with what's going on out there.

I think you're telling the truth, however. But I think people on the other side of the picture are doing the same thing too.

I'm assuming certain businesses do need job slots filled. But they also want to bring in new employees because of the hassle of vaxx mandates or other problems related to Covid. Not to mention facing an increasingly business-unfriendly "lefty" political world.

Or prospective job seekers are focusing on non-basic forms of employment, not things like front-staff clerks or hands-on workers.

Regardless, this is a really flaky time in US history. Which is why having Joe Brandon in the White House is symbolically appropriate.

If these companies and corporation are so terribly desperate for workers then why are they going along with a non-existent vaccine mandates?

Why are so many companies firing people for not wearing a mask or not being vaccinated if they cannot fill existing positions?

At work the rest are applying for 100 plus jobs a day

and hearing nothing back
