Anonymous Coward User ID: 80292754 Mexico 10/22/2021 09:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's a few places around the country that you can go to that will give you a pack of bacon, 18 eggs, and six pieces of toast for next to nothing. Or, a burger the size of a plate, for next to nothing, or even a pizza the half size of a table. Doesn't mean people line up for it very often. In the 80's A&W was car hop. McDonalds was offering drive thru. Two different styles of business, but who would go out of their way for a "little" more burger - unless you wanted to visit that place anyways. FFS, if you want more burger, you just buy another hamburger where-ever you are currently at. I get the message. But the reality is A&W, as awesome as a concept it was, was a completely different business model. A burger with a little extra meat doesn't change that. It's like Taco Bell offering breakfast. Who the fuck goes to Taco Bell - for breakfast? |

Quoting: JF Priest Back in the ’80s, A&W tried to compete with the McDonald’s Quarter Pounder by selling a THIRD-pound burger for the same price. But it failed, because people were confused by fractions, and thought a quarter pound was bigger than a third of a pound. [link to www.alice965.com (secure)] .3 lbs burger? |

You had to sit outside to eat. There were so many yellow jackets, it was impossible to eat! Between the ketchup and the root beer, there were about a million yellow jackets trying to eat your food. People spill the damn root beer all over the place, and the yellowjackets proceed to set up shop en masse. You’d think that the health inspector would make them do something about it, as those little buggers are every bit as filthy as flies. They could at least instruct them to put traps up and hose down the outside area every so often, but I guess free food makes them blind. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74322544 In other words. if it's not a fried chicken place. it won't do well in that area. they are only in small rural towns in my state. along with Hardee's. always thought that was odd practice. |
