Maryland. We live on a state route in the center of the state. There's a lot more going to work traffic since about 3:00 a.m.

I wasn't aware about this slow down caused by the Metro today until reading it here. Possibly people who would normally take the subway leaving for work earlier because they have to drive into DC?

I've noticed a lot more intense tractor trailer traffic on our interstate as well, I'm in the southeast US. I'd say the increase happened starting last week or so.
