“Is there any appearance of golden ratio in The Great Pyramid of Giza?”

Yes, there certainly appears to be. But it also appears to be a remarkable coincidence. It is the only pyramid of the three at Giza, or any of Egypt’s pyramids, where Phi (and Pi) are noticeably present. It is the largest and oldest of the Giza pyramids, built over a span of about 20 years, and completed in ca. 2560 BC (estimates vary), making it almost 4,600 years old.

According to various scholars who have investigated this relationship, the ancient Egyptians probably did not know the mathematical coincidence involving the number Pi and the golden ratio Phi.

Exact measurements of the Great Pyramid were first made* by Sir W.M. Flinders Petrie, and published in 1883 by the Royal Society of London in his book, "The Pyramids and Temples of Gizeh" [as it was then spelled]. He was an Egyptologist and an archeologist. Petrie believed in exact science and applied it in his survey of the pyramids of Giza (1880–1882). Interestingly, he did not mention Phi (the Golden ratio) in his book. It is unlikely that he had a hidden agenda to make the results of his measurements agree with Phi or Pi. *after the builders of the Great Pyramid itself.

Accordingly I’m using Petrie’s measurements as a reference here because, although he began his survey in 1880, his base length measurements are within 0.016 m of the most recent survey by Glen Dash in 2015. (can’t insert link here, will try later).
