User ID: 80881131 United States 10/16/2021 04:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've had millennials ask me about the 80s before and I always tell them the same thing. Imagine, if you will, the dumbest human you possibly can and put a leather jacket on it. That was the 80s. I'm actually glad the millennials reacted to the extreme excess of the 80s. I personally don't believe that was actually latch-key kid culture. It was imposed on us. It does make some good road trip music, but that's probably because everyone was on cocaine. Ultimately, the 80s exist in their own dimension and those who tell you that it was all roses have selective memory. Every once in a while it helps to reflect on the 80s so we can remember why we threw them in the dumpster and then lit it on fire. The real story of the 80s was excess, greed, drug abuse, cluelessness, ignorance, and broken homes due to infidelity and abuse. So, if I could, would I do the 80s again? Are you kidding me? When I was 12 I wished I was 40. I'd never wish the 80s on anyone! God help us! I'm not going to be that guy who tells you that the 80s was the best, or even good. I think future generations deserve to know the truth so that it never happens again. I curse the 80s to this day. Most horrific time period in my entire life. A living hell daily. I don't quite share the fond nostalgia of my Xer peer group on that issue. It wasn't the good ol' anything, and there is no sweet child o' mine. The only thing I wanted to do in school was punch anyone who looked at me. I hated every second of it. I think the millennials may have overreacted a bit and become Karens. I would just like everyone to know that it's still ok to smile. That's still a very human thing to do. I look forward to doom, because even doom would be better than the 80s. What you are is a spiritually bereft moron attempting to compensate for your separation from the true and living God. |
