The first time you wait four hours, for free, to unload, you'll be begging for the old job back, with a pay cut. |

Sleep the night and take anpther load back the other way. The trailers are always in motion. I think the Pony Express worked this way. |

It's the consumers fault that all those shipping containers are off shore and the government asked truckers to work harder. Gosh darn it all you consumers, just stop consuming and let these poor truckers get some rest and all the problems with disappear. They obviously need to vet the wives too..... You have to train your mind to be stronger than your emotions or you will lose yourself every time |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 78773304 United States 10/14/2021 02:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Most of us long haulers get paid by the mile. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79638905 We'd rather run as much as we can to earn more. Plus there's always a load on the other side that needs to go where you're going most of the time. It's not a big deal for drivers. The fact that you’re hauling back a container is why I’m asked the original question. Why don’t you trade loads and everyone gets home sooner? You’d still get the miles driving back and forth to the rally point. You would just get to sleep at home more often. The only pitfalls I can imagine is waiting on the other driver and getting board with the scenery. Although you would know your route like the back of your hand which is an important plus. |
