Turtle Hermit User ID: 80956893 United States 10/13/2021 01:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | hey if it leads to californias ridiculous prices to drop...it's all good Quoting: Disenfranchised Godzilla1980 It could very easily have a big impact on them. I am expecting it to impact the real estate market at any rate. Ive been waiting 10 years... I have enough dough to pay in cash for a house, but its simply not worth it at the current prices.... 500-800k for a 2bd 2bath/3bd 2bath, is insane. I wont pay it. Luckily I own a little 2bd 1 bath paid off, so I wait... Always remember these words: Work hard, study well, and eat and sleep plenty! That is the Turtle Hermit way! We must master the art of peace in addition to the art of war! |

(OP) User ID: 78765190 Romania 10/13/2021 02:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I expect prices to go down, but I honestly have no idea whats going to happen. Chinese people bought a ton of property abroad and that heavily inflated the local prices in NYC and the Seattle area, at least. The tipping point will be what China does to deal with this issue. A lot of people in China have their entire lives put into real estate. When you need cash, you liquidate assets. When a lot of people do the same, prices plummet. This whole thing is a mess IMO. I would point out this thread: [link to godlike.com (secure)] And I don't disagree with it either. I am like phish on this, I will never pay these insane prices for property. I am also geared up and ready to buy foreclosed properties. So take that as you will. Empty Men offer Empty Words and Empty Hearts. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80981011 United Kingdom 10/13/2021 02:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think china pulls a refinance rabbit out of its hat.since population is so large, this creates a parachute effect on inflation.the populace absorbs the hit.the bubbles pop on realestate in country.out of country, its a mess, those folks aint taking a loss.that valuation is eatin away in taxes. Usa is demographically changing and the future is southern migration away from tax hell. Florida is maxxed out so it all goes texas.thus austin.no matter what happens, even ww3,austin wins.a sure bet for the future. No better realestate investment option, none. |

London probably, but don't go panicking, I know it will effect Seattle/New York because they have a lot of mainlanders. Empty Men offer Empty Words and Empty Hearts. |

Did the rueskies have over 300 million fire arms with double or triple the ammo? The list goes on and on about the differences between then and now. Anonymous Coward User ID: 78315334 United States 10/13/2021 08:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | IMHO (and I could be wrong)...I think this will result in the impossible. It will raise prices and decrease home-loan availability. Only the rich who can pay cash for a house will be able to buy one. - MC |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80325381 Canada 10/13/2021 08:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | According to a Zerohedge article, when the housing bubble burst in the US in 2008, it was 6% of US GDP. The Chinese real estate market is currently 29% of Chinese GDP... Historically, when a nation has domestic issues, it starts a war. Don't plan any trips to Taiwan/Formosa anytime soon. |

Not going to watch the whole thing, as I am trying to get back stateside atm. Life as an expat is quite nice, but it isn't easy. There was a thread about it that was pretty good a while back. Ecuador I think. I was in China, and things are getting interesting there. Hence I am trying to leave. Last Edited by Glaxnor on 10/14/2021 11:03 AM Empty Men offer Empty Words and Empty Hearts. |
