From what I heard, truckers are on site waiting to get loaded, but there's almost no one at the cranes and docks unloading the ships and loading the trucks. It's at a snails pace. The truckers are there though. Quoting: Domari Nolo Yep. There's enough rigs to move product. There's hardly any product to move, though. This 'blame the truckers', 'blame the lazy people who won't work' bs is just that. BS. It is true, though, that millions are being maimed and killed from the vax, though - rendering huge swaths of the population unable and unfit to work at all! They're taking it all down. (OP) User ID: 80802281 10/11/2021 08:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is a BS cover story. Trucking has been in freefall for the past 5 years. The real issue is quite simple - no supply. Only a trickle of goods are being manufactured all around the world. That's it. Period. Those containers on the ships off the CA coast? Empty. There's nothing in them. Literally. Everyone in procurement can testify that lead times for orders are now going over ONE YEAR OUT and it keeps being extended. Why? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80991167 Cause ain't shit getting made. No parts. No resources. This is the real deal, folks. I have this terrible feeling that you are right, especially as I see shelves at local stores not being replenished much anymore and car lots sitting empty. I think this really is game over as we know it. I also think that the corporations knew last year that there were going to be mass layoffs and terminations coming up in the next couple of years and they colluded with the gubmint to mandate the vaxx knowing that half the people would not take it and the employees could then be blamed for losing their jobs cuz they refused the jab. And fly the planes, work as cashiers, flip burgers, perform surgeries, etc.. etc. Oh wait, military members are quitting, too? Lmao. I can't wait to see him, KamelHo, and Raggedy Psaki figure this one out. Imagine the sundowner moment, uncontrollable cackling and lizard licking this will produce in the 3 stooges. Haha. |

Quoting: N3M3S1S F$CKIT I’ve never seen so many containers sitting there. Talking 10’s of thousands. There are 31 ships sitting off the coast of Hilton Head and Savannah waiting to unload. There’s no way out of this backlog anytime soon. Also sat through a speech by the head of the GA pilots association. He said the largest ships now take 4 days to unload. More are incoming by the day. Do the math. Wow I did not know that, but last I read there were 70 off the the coast of Long Beach Ca. I shop at Harbor Freight alot for stuff i need at home. A month ago I talked to their local manager, who blamed their own shortages there on the lack of help in the CA ports. Today the cashier blamed it on the low pay of the trucking industry.. Truck drivers ... dock workers ... or a general conspiracy by someone else .... :fireplace: "Remember when we used to treat colds and flu with chicken soup, saltwater gargles and warm tea instead of Communism?" |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80912927 United States 10/11/2021 10:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Seems like this was set up around 2016 when they changed the rules for DOT medical cards, a lot of drivers lost their CDL because they didn't receive notification of the change. Voila, medically ineligible. One option, re-test. Not really easy to get your hands on the rig for the road test. The written test is nothing. |

With more and more states legalizing pot, every kid is smoking it. The hires can’t pass the pee test. Quoting: A Jackson Also you have to have some intelligence to drive a truck. When my son got his CDL there were 40 prospective drivers, fourteen left for drugs, another twelve for not being able to pass an open book test. Over half the class washes out. Yeah AND a hair test. Before I went to CDL school, I worked as a temp dispatcher and then at amazon for 4 months to let clean hair grow out. It takes a lot of will power. That was right when COVID first hit. I've been driving ever since. Now I'm local, home on the weekends and clearing $1500/wk. Driving is brutal though. |

I used to work for Knight out of the Indy terminal and the safety coordinator calls me out of the blue from time to time to see if I want to come back, LOL. I guess its because I stayed out OTR and only came home like 4 times in a year. Good miles, 3600 would be a slow week. |

But it won't be. IT'S BY DESIGN. Obvious tell. When I drove for a company back in 2003. My hours of service and pay cheques came out to about 8 bucks an hour for 60 hr weeks. It was a brutal life on the road. Not worth it. That was .28 cents CDN a mile. When I switched to a .38 cents a mile CDN company my wage only went to 10 bucks an hour. It seemed the .28 cents a mile company paid actual miles, the .38 cents a mile company constantly cheated me out of miles every cheque so it was more like .33 cents a mile. Either way, the job should have been 20 bucks an hour and not my fault if they got no load for me to haul.. Many hours were wasted at border crossings and loading docks. There is nothing worse than working for free. Since then they have changed hours of service and made things even harder to make money under stricter rules. Not to mention, the state troopers in the u.s were a bunch of fkn nazi's back even then constantly just trying to nickel and dime tickets out of you. They'd have to pay 100k/year for me to ever want to go back into that job and no forced vax or bull shit. Last Edited by AlphaWolf on 10/12/2021 12:24 AM |
