So I think blackrock, etc, are just hedging against a market crash to limit loss.

I remember back in 2005/2006, back when 125% cash out was a thing.

One guy I worked with at that time, did exactly this. Extracted all of his money, while retaining the home to live. When the crash hit, there he was sitting on a pile of money, still living in the home, and it didn't matter what the value of the home was. But, this provided options to him.

He always mentioned something about strategically defaulting and giving the house back, then go pay cash for a home elsewhere. Only, I don't know if he ever did that or not. Either way, obviously with enough time, home prices recovered and more. And, he might still be sitting on a pile of "things", purchased from all that extracted money.

Keeping an eye on everyone, via wireless and 5G technologies will make monitoring and enforcement all the more manageable. Don't turn in a friend or acquaintance, and your privileges to buy food, travel, and recreation will be withheld. This is the New World Order of things coming to a neighborhood of their making.
