BBS MESSAGES BEFORE THE INTERNET As a teenager and into my early twenties, I taught myself how to program an ATARI computer, both in BASIC language and in assembly language. I was writing game programs. One day a friend told me that if I go online that I could find games. There was no 31 internet at that time, but people used modems to connect their computers online. A modem is a small device that calls a telephone number and connects your computer to another person’s computer which is running software to allow you to read messages and download files from their computer. The program that you login on is called a Bulletin Board System (BBS). I began to call BBS systems and read and post messages on their message bases. I found myself defending my faith in Jesus in a hostile atmosphere toward Christianity. I decided to run my own BBS and make my message bases welcome discussion about spirituality. In those days of the early 1980’s there were BBS networks that would send bundles of message base discussions to each other. These files were called ECHOMAIL. People would read and post messages and then once per day the BBS owner would bundle all the new messages into a file and transmit it to an Echomail hub system, which then sent them to everyone in the network. I created my own network called SEARCHNET and made several message bases on it with different topics on spirituality, politics, and conspiracy. SearchNet was known for allowing people to 32 express their opinions about a subject without being attacked by other people. At that time my nickname was ladynada. TEACHING ON MESSAGE FORUMS As soon as the internet came, I transferred my echomail message bases into a mailing list. A mailing list has many people subscribe to it with their email addresses and each person gets every new message posted. It was at that time in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s that I began cross posting messages to internet Usenet groups. Cross posting is taking one message and posting it to several different discussion groups. I became well known and earned a title of “Net Kook”, which was an honor for me. I was sharing other people’s messages and I did not add my own opinion to the messages. Internet Usenet groups began to die down so I began to post my own messages on internet message forums. In 2006 I began to post on one large forum under the nickname Me114. Most of my posts were about my faith in Jesus and Father God. I used the forum to teach people things that I was learning about my relationship with God. When Facebook and 33 Twitter came out, I also posted my teachings on their social media platforms. I went by the nickname heartdaughter. FALL IN LOVE WITH GOD I love to teach understandings based on the Holy Bible and Holy Spirit revelation. A few years ago, I wrote a three-part series of messages on “How to hear the voice of God”. I posted it to several places. And now the idea to make it into a book is what you are reading. I have always wanted to be a writer since I was a little girl. I could not let all these decades of knowing God and hearing His voice, go to waste without sharing what I have learned. I want people to know that it is totally “normal” to be able to hear God. He also takes care of us like a loving Father. It was many years ago when I saw how God was taking care of me and my family, that I fell in love with God. Before that time, I had faith to believe in Him and I reverenced him. My hope in writing this book is that readers will learn to hear His voice and will also fall in love with Father God.
