OP, consider buying a life insurance policy on them before anything happens so you can afford funeral expenses and to take time off to grieve.

I'm sorry for what you are going through, but if it does happen, you need to be prepared financially.

Someone needs a 'medical power of attorney' to decide the medical decisions. I went through this.. The person with the medical power of attorney decides when to pull the plug if they are on life support.

Is your brother her guardian legally, or is your mother still independent?

If she has say in her own comings and goings, then go get her.

No, Just been unlucky with inlaws... I figure why not keep it going with wife #2 as I have lot's of practice hosting holidays after hiding all the knives.

I need to know who to contact at this point because it is getting out of hand. My dad is in the hospital. He wanted to come home DAYS AGO and my mother did not get him due to being influenced by my brother. My brother told me I am crazy and to trust the system, he also said let them put him on a ventilator. That is against my dads wishes. This fucker is influencing my mom, and it is getting really bad. I am blocked from finding out anything because my brother says so. Now he called to get my mom and sister in the hospital. They didnt go thank God. But Its getting sick and if someone can help me at this point ot would be appreciated. Do I need to contact an attorney? What kind??? Please help this is getting ugly fast

Your parents are grown adults and can independently take care of themselves. You won’t get anything unless you can prove your dad and mom are incapacitated and left you medical power of attorney. The best you can do is try to talk to them and get that medical power of attorney esp your dad if they are trying to intubate, but usually spouse gets that, not the children.

File a petition in your court at the county they are in. You want to file for guardianship of one or both. You have to find an atty that deals with either probate or custody issues. Put up the retainer and have them immediately file for the temporary and then permeate guardianship.

There are guidelines for this action as it will restrict the ward's rights, so look into the information in your state.
