Man had a .45 replica is what they said? Read the article
 Quoting: prorectum

He did, but it was a replica to scare the intruders.

Of course, the police who shot him, will say he pointed it at him (the police). No way would he have pointed it at the police.

I try to tell people if they carry and the police shoot them at least in my state of Texas, it is an automatically justified shooting. A freebee. Something to consider if you do carry.

Mantua (the town)

Area: 16.09 mi²
Population: 14,899 (2018)

Police apparently never see much action there.
They overreacted.

The point I was tryign to make is despite the fact the individual was on his own land and violating no law, the fact that he had what looked like a gun was enough excuse to blow him away and get clean away with it. DEPARTMENT POLICY

And unless there is a threat of disruption and a loss of profit through protecting NOTHING will be done.

Spot on, just what the cop said.

The body-cam footage shows police cautiously approaching Sharp after the shooting.

"Watch, he's got a gun on him," one officer warns.

"Is it the homeowner?" asks another policeman.

"I don't know," an officer answers. "The guy came out and pointed a gun."

"When he pointed the gun, I thought he was going to (expletive) shoot me, dude," the officer continues.

Thats how it works, and unless thousands of people take to the streets in VIOLENT disruptive protest, NOTHING will be done. NOTHING

If you have a gun (or a dog), you'd better hide them.

They'll "get another gun off the streets" if you catch my drift.

I feel for the man. One benefit of living in the country is it's common to just start shooting out the back porch or whatever if you hear something. Whatever it is normally runs like hell.

Nobody says a damned thing. Nobody calls cops either, just handle it and go back to bed.

Mantua is in south New Jersey...

Charles Sharp (homeowner) calls 911 because people/tresspassers are outside his home at his shed and near his truck.
He notices one man had a gun.

Police arrive.

Police see Charles Sharp (homeowner) and shoot him. Charles Sharp (the homeowner) is dead. 49 years old!

Yeah, not very smart to call the cops and stand outside waving a gun around. That really is a good way to get shot by the cops. They don’t know if your the homeowner or the criminal

In the Old Testament, the shooter would be stoned to death by the surviving family members.

In 2021, the officer will be put on paid leave (a vacation) and be right back to work, killing people, next month.

So, in order to be able to defend yourself in Texas, you have to be OK with being shot by the police and with zero repercussions for them?

That's absolutely INSANE.

I called the cops about 6 years ago to complain about some kid shooting his AK47 on the frozen pond shooting snowmen. My call just said I’m worried about ricochets and someone needs to talk to him. 20 minutes later I get a knock on my door and basically every cop from my town is in single file line with their guns drawn the first guy screaming at my 12 pound Yorkie pointing his gun at the dog screaming IS HE FRIENDLY!??! IS HE FRIENDLY!??!

Within about 30 second my entire house was invaded

Lots of green in this story. A "replica" .45? Elm street sign shown several times for no real purpose. There are messages in this "story" pointing at an upcoming event. They do this and have done this before countless times. The other one I'm seeing a lot of in other stories is the insignia of three trees and Evergreen.
