With consolidated medical records systems, it might be a DNR that the patient was convinced to sign earlier at some office appointment...with old folks, they are pushing these right and left.

It could be once admitted, they asked the patient themselves and got talked into it.

I believe in some jurisdictions that a DR. can order a DNR.

SO don't know here but that is what comes to mind.

In the UK, a DNR order is often ordered by a doctor to prevent patients suffering from negative effects which resuscitation may cause, or if a patient’s state of health is in a position where resuscitation is unlikely to be a success.
