Lol Americans. We're paying 5.28 dollars a gallon equivalent and have been for years now in the UK. And going up another 3p a litre next week.

You're getting hissy at what, 3 dollars? On a 108 dollar fill over 36 gallon tanks?

Hate to think what a fillup is costing in states with REALLY high prices.

The new normal is creeping up on us.

Paid $59 for half a tank of Diesel for my 2021 GMC Sierra 3500HD AT4 today.

That was the round trip cost from NYC to N.E. PA and the truck got 16.3 MPG

Not shabby for a 6.6L Duramax Diesel.
 Quoting: Watchman2020

Topped off half a tank in the old 7.3 powerstroke. $60. Was getting it for $2.85 in Wisconsin, but paid $3.18 in Illinois yesterday. Mines got the manual trans and I can get about 25mpg highway.

Put $75 in the Chevy C1500 this weekend. For midgrade.

Glad I taught the 388 to run on the cheap stuff (87) but at around 11:1 compression my timing ends up around 25 degrees.

Midgrade (89) I can get close to 29 degrees.

Premium (93) I can run 32 degrees and it loves it.

We usually keep our vehicles topped off, or near it, so it's relatively painless to fill up. A few extended trips this week landed the truck near empty yesterday, and wow. This fill up made me blink.

I live 20 miles from a town, and i get my stuff mostly always delivered(99)percent of the time... but my dad has always said i have needed a truck..

He always wanted me to get one,as i only get cars with the best gas milage as i live...20 miles from a town...

But so far in the last 20 years or so...i really only needed a truck 2 times?? if that...But really,i never seen a need for a truck.

I own my property,5 acres, lived here in the desert for over 18 years and never had a use for a truck...

Why would i get something that cost me arm and a leg to drive?

My wife has a ford fusion hybrid and gets 40 mpg....and we are happy with it ..

My dad has 2 trucks and like 4 cars ...but really never needed it..

1 time..we did when i bought this house i needed to bring in carpet and cabinets and paint and all the things you need to redo the house...

but since that..1 time..everything else is delivered ...

If i had a truck now...I could not afford to drive it ..so whats the point...its bad enough to fill up a car getting 40 mpg...lol...

Paid $4.59/gallon for 87 octane here in Kommifornia this morning. Topping off the wife's car.

The 32 gallon tank in the Bronco is almost empty. That's gonna leave a mark. My old GMC pickup is down with a dead transmission, which is just fine currently as it gets 9 MPG. Uphill, downhill, empty or loaded, it doesn't matter.

Condensation is your enemy in a fuel system. Full tank = no water to condense. This is why aircraft owners keep the tanks full. You don't want it conking out at 10,000 feet. It's not like you can just coast over to the side of the road.
