But, to address some of the issues you mentioned in the original post: 1. You can't pardon someone until they are formally charged. Charges against Jan 6 people didn't occur until after Jan 21, which was intentional. Some of those people still sit languishing in prison to this day without being formally charged. 2. I don't pretend to know the dynamics of the relationship between Trump and Giuliani or Trump and Powell. For all I know they agreed to intentionally keep things legally separate. I did find it odd that both Giuliani and Powell seemed to operate under their own auspices and do their own thing while Trump had a separate legal team filing court cases on behalf of his campaign. All that being said, I would prefer to see someone else run for the conservatives in 2024. Right now, DeSantis seems like the best choice, but time will tell. Do you know the difference between justice and punishment? 2+2=4 |
