I didn't watch TV much, so my mind would create/imagine video clips. For this song I imagined a small town barn dance. Everyone would go in, have fun, fall in love and drink. The scene was beautiful until the camera panned outside, where they were loading dead bodies into old utes. People were drinking poisoned alcohol and after they collapsed in the toilet. They would collect the dead via a side door. People would wonder were their dance partners went, but quickly forgot when someone new arrived at the dance. The scene would give me chills I kid you not. That is the vision this song gave me in 2000. 2021 Now, I can't listen to this song anymore. |
