Help!! Coming off Ativan!!!

I should add that I was also doing heroin, opiates, meth once in a while, and stimulant pills. I smoked at least a pack a day and drank on average a 12 pack a day after work. I quit it all over night cold Turkey.

Right. The problem was my pill bottle said the 2nd so I was thinking I was getting it filled. But, came back I didn't pick the medication up until the 6th and that's what they go off. So thank gosh I can get it Sunday and not wait till the 6th.

I'm doing well now mentally. I'm dealing with some old physical ailments. All in all I'm in a much better place mentally than ive ever been. That experience forged a stronger man.

Please follow @grimhood on twitter. He has a ton of experience with avoiding big pharma products. Magnesium is the key.

Contact the pharmacist, and explain your situation, and ask if you can have 5 pills or so, until your prescription is filled. Explain to them you are having terrible withdrawals and you are suffering. Most Pharmacist will comply as long as they know you have a prescription on file.

My Doctor finally emailed me back. He said thanks for being honest and that the DEA is cracking down so he had to give me 1mg of clonazepam for 5 days. He said please don't ever let this happen again, because he won't be able to help me. Thank you so so much everyone!!! you have no idea how much it means to me.

OP... as a Addict (recovering)

IF you get into dire straits, but some beer and drink one every 2 hours.

Not too long ago I had to go to a detox center for alcohol and they put me on Ativan. Alcohol and specifically Ativan work on THE EXACT SAME parts of the brain.

Or go to a Detox center and they may use Phenobarbital to bring you off it.

Detoxing for any drug other than opioids only lasts a couple of days.

Pharmacies frequently "short" their customers. Anytime I get a controlled substance filled... I stand there and count them out before walking away.

GABA may help. BUT it's technically too large a molecule to make it through the blood/ brain barrier. GABApentin on the other hand helps the brain maintain it's GABA levels.

Basically, you are low on GABA because the Ativan has been doing the job of GABA for you. On the other hand, another brain chem called Glutimate is the opposite of GABA and it is there in abundance. The Glutimate binds to the GABA receptors as well and does the opposite of calming you down.

So if you start withdrawing HARD and can't get your Dr... Alcohol will help. Just PLEASE get help for the long term.

Oh wow congrats!! I thought everyone was teasing when they said to drink. It makes sense. I wish now i never took this medication. If this is a snipped of what it feels like to come off completely I might need to be put in a coma or something. This is horrible

I wonder about that as well. I wonder if they shorted me and here i'm thinking i probably took it? I mean 10 years on this and all a sudden they give me 3 months worth instead of 30 days and i'm short 9 pills.

I am so happy to hear this! This will definitely get you thru until Sunday. And will make it so this situation doesn't interfere with your future refills.

Valerian root can help it will make you sleepy but it should help.

Kava kava for anxiety. Not as potent as xanax makes your tongue numb like some old school Peruvian flake if it’s quality Kava.

Kratom in low doses (2mg) of a WHITE strain for slight mood boost and energy. Stay away from the red unless you want to zombify yourself.

Ashwaganda is longer lasting than the Kava but doesn’t “hit” as hard.

Benzo w.drawl is no joke; neither is alcohol. In both instances Librium is the way to medical detox (contradiction in terms).

Whole Foods / Sprouts / local tree hugger hippie grifter bodega will have the Kava and the Kratom.

You’ll be fine my friend. Just breathe, it’s simple and automatic but if you SLOW DOWN and pay attention to JUST BREATHING.

I just have a lil headache. I bet Rite Aid is taking some of my medication. Next time I get anything 90 days I assume I should count it?

OP, you should get professional help. Ativan causes addiction to a certain degree. It's just a lighter version of a drug. I'm wishing you best on your withdrawal

I was addicted to ativan.

I'm telling you, good weed.

Even if you dont smoke weed.

Ativan withdrawls can kill you.

I've buried several friends from ativan and adderall withdrawls.

You need some good weed.

It works better than anything else, trust me.

My advice is to get off ativan completely, and any other benzos.

It's just alcohol in a pill, but stronger.

You'd be better off with a couple light beers.

Those drugs, even clonazepam are highly addictive.

You would do better with a couple beers and a bowl of kush.

I have huge anxiety issues and struggled with drug dependence after the army.

Trust what I say.

I take the pills. It got me off of antidepressants and other substances.

Krave is the brand I buy though I’m sure it’s not the best quality as it’s mass produced and heavily marketed. That said they have a lot of varieties.

Kratom is strange in that low doses (4g) it’s stimulative. I take it with a cup of coffee. In higher doses (I’ve heard people taking 30g a day) it’s an opiate pain killer makes you numb and dogshit tired.

As with everything you’ll develop a tolerance. To avoid that switch strains every couple of weeks / months. From Thai to Maeng Da to whatever the other 3 varieties are.

I personally stay away from “blends”.
Red, green, white are just which part of the leaf is harvested.
Red = heroin
White = stimulant
Green is balancing?

They say euphoria can occur but I think you’d need to take larger doses.

There’s also yellow and Orange but I don’t think those are natural. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Search the interweb for Kratom Sampler Pack. You can get a good deal on blends and powders.

Sort of like drinking tea: Earl Grey / Boack Tea for the AM Chamomile for bedtime. Do your own DD. There’s quite a few threads for Kratom on this board.
