Victoria Police has defended the actions of police officers in Melbourne's east, after the Chinese flag was hoisted up the station's flagpole and they sang the Communist country's national anthem.


A spokesperson from Victoria Police said the event was attended by the local mayor, state and federal ministers and local business representatives.
