The pink slime is all the connective tissues, organs, and meat that was stuck to the bone ground up, emulsified and squirted into forms. Delicious! * gag * Does it come with barf bags? . Oh c'mon... You've never eaten Chicken McNuggets before? I don't think there ever was a time that nuggets weren't made of this. In fact, they were worse in the 90s and earlier because they used to include undesirable processing scraps that they don't use anymore. They also only use white meat scraps now. If you boil a carcass down into a soup, what do you think the soup contains? If you've done it right, there won't be anything left but the bones. |

It is very, very easy to debone chicken. It has saved me a lot over the years . Of course it takes some time and some people cannot afford the time. It gets faster with practice. I have seen them for $5.99. Years back when times were extremely hard, I would buy them and boil them all. I would debone them and make barbecue chicken. Normally my husband will not eat dark meat, but I discovered he liked it just fine if it was pulled, shredded and barbecued. I would freeze the extra barbeque and some of the broth, and make chicken soup out of the rest. It's easier to be poor if you aren't very picky, and if you have cooking skill.
