My opinion:
It's going to be food, water, shelter, vitamins, minerals, medicine & specific skill sets.
Gold & silver is nice, but you can't eat or drink it & it won't cure any bacterial infection. It's shiny though & many will opt for the gold & silver, but I fear it will be worthless!
Buy more food!

There in only so much food that could be found in the US under this system of Marketing. In order to purchase more goods from overseas or South of the Border from farmers there, will require the US suppliers to use precious metals as currency. So naturally they will also accept it as payment for goods. This will result in a black market smuggling operation in food and supplies coming into the US.
