Squid Game | A story about the debt crisis | You should binge this!

Hell yeah. Literally the first new tv show/series I've watched in over five years. 100% worth it. Watched it all last night, went to bed at 6:30am... up at 10am for work today.

I expect 99% of people watching wont see any deeper meaning though, typical consumption junkies. They might as well be watching SAW compilations on youtube.

Be warned that there is A LOT of graphic death on this show.

I mean A LOT.

But was well written, acted, and directed.

Koreans are now better than Americans at making quality shows.

I am not sure there is really any deep meaning though TBH. Wasn’t like there was much philosophical musing in it.

But yeah it was about the ultra rich getting off on watching the underclass die.

When push comes to shove, most people will be willing to kill or deceive In order to get ahead and get the money.

The human race is fucked is essentially the message.

as for debt crisis.the american debt is in house and doesnt count.all outgoing can be resolved by my crude production process if congrdss will finance it.elon is against it because he wants to monopolize transportation in the nato arena.

I watched it all over the weekend and now I have PTSD from the stress of watching it but thought it was GREAT. I never thought I'd be crying and so stressed out while watching a game of tug of war but wow it was really well done.

they never explained the brothers that much... why/how did one become the bad one etc.

They weren't brothers. Just childhood friends.

I watched it. It was pretty good.

Better acting than Hollywood

The good news is that I'm finally in the majority, the bad news is I saw no connection with the debt crisis.

I was more in tune with the concept of forming teams when each team member knows that all but one will die.

Binged over the weekend. I haven't binged something for years.
This show was awesome and totally messes with your head not just from a gore aspect, but all of the allegories tied to social engineering.

Hmm, would you recommend watching with subtitles or dubbed?

I never know with foreign stuff.

Korean audio w/ English subs is the way to watch this.

This show will shake you. And it is based on real life (like most in here already know)

Not exactly - remember what happened in one of the last scenes in the last episode (9) when they were looking out the window onto the street below? (trying not to spoil it)

The clear message is there IS hope for humanity.

I just started watching "Alice in Borderland" last night, first episode was interesting.

Thinking of switching over to Squid Game tonight, to see what it's like.

Squid Game is a much better show. No comparison.

Yes, unfortunately. I hate Netflix in principle but I keep it mostly to monitor the propaganda.

But every once in awhile, there's something worthwhile to see, like this.

This series is really well done. And it's not really THAT gory, just basic stuff like people getting shot or knifed.

The main value is the presentation of topics that are very relevant to a lot of things we discuss here.

It's in Korean with English subtitles (maybe that can be changed).

But I'd recommend watching it like that, it adds to the "ambiance". For those not used to subtitles, I used to be one of those types - it's amazing how little difference it makes. Your mind will fill it in, you hardly notice them.

There was one message to the show that I realized and it is shown in at least two ways that you have to watch to see it.

THE FIRST SHALL BE LAST AND THE LAST SHALL BE FIRST

Watched the first three episodes. It's alright so far.

In some ways I prefer Alice in Borderland. Probably because it reminded me of the game Persona 5 as it's set in the same area. Bit of a trip recognizing places you've been to in a game lol
