Does your auto parts store have any? If you live where it gets much below freezing in the winter, you should always keep a couple of gallons on hand. In the event the power goes out and you have no alternate heat source, or an insufficient one, the drain traps and toilet bowl, which always have water in them, could freeze and be severely damaged or destroyed as the water expands. Windshield washer fluid poured into the traps and toilet bowl will lower the freezing point of the water, saving your plumbing. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53679540 Of course, a I’m just one of those horrible, worthless AC’s that should be banned, so you probably should dismiss whatever I have to say on general principle. First of all I'd like to expand on the other interesting thing about Winter WW fluid. It will burn if you happen to need a good emergency ignitable fluid. Now back to the topic: Here in my neck of the woods we will be transitioning from summer grade (no alcohol) to winter grade (With alcohol.) Suppliers are likely clearing their shelves(and back stock) of summer grade before they stock the shelves with winter grade! Last Edited by rccola on 09/24/2021 11:11 PM |

I could only find one of each type. The employees seemed genuinely worried. One guy kept talking about rotors. Does your auto parts store have any? Lodge makes a cleaning block that you rub the cookware with. The video looked amazing but they've been oot of stock every time I looked for them online. Quoting: South Central Probably that crumbly super abrasive griddle cleaning block. We used them when I was a teenager at a steak house to clean the toast griddle. They are pretty amazing. Especially if you have the griddle hot and pour a little soda water on there first. Shiny clean in seconds. Almost forgot about those blocks. [link to www.ebay.com (secure)] Cool. Thanks to you both. I'll try the block before I hand it over to the pros. If it doesn't work on this piece, I can certainly use the block on my stove griddle and grates. . . . "Stop the lockdown. Stop the masks. The expensive ones aren't sold by Amazon, they're sold by third-party sellers. Supply and demand. (And trust me, after all of Amazon's fees, you don't make that much profit per sale.) Have you tried lining the inside of the oven with aluminum foil? That shizz is toxic I use the non-toxic shit. I had an "incident" when I was first out on my own where I had sprayed down the oven, hadn't wiped it down yet, cooked a pizza, then dropped it on the oven door covered in dried cleaner and decided to eat it anyways.... The shit like melted the side of my tongue. To this day I have a smooth spot where it burned away all the taste buds on one side. Poison control only recommended I drink water. I tried the vinegar bath, actually two and the second one I let the pieces soak for two days. I then tried vinegar and baking soda and a shit ton of elbow grease. Even with proper heat, it barely made a dent. Though, the process did work on two skillets that weren't as bad as this little dutch oven. Thanks for the suggestion, though. Cheers! . . My car likes the premium stuff. I wonder if this is widespread... We've had that on and off here for the past couple years. My car runs like shit without premium. You can buy octane booster at the auto parts store to add to regular which will help. I haven't noticed that here yet. Are you really in the Bahamas? I got a good chuckle out of that. I found a great cast iron dutch oven sitting in a garage and covered with about 60+ years of rust and old food gunk. Soaking in a vinegar bath didn't do the trick, so I want to try the oven cleaner method. Any ideas on cleaning crusted, rusted cast iron? . Use a wire brush on a drill, then re-season it with a layer of Crisco and bake it in the oven at 250 for an hour. |
