Jupiter doesn't have a surface, but if something exploded in the deeper layers then it definitely would have disrupted the upper cloud layers and caused a mixing of composition that would be visible as a "scar." Do you mean that there is no solid planet under the gasses? There should be a solid core but that's really deep. The gas pressure just keeps building and it will destroy anything you send in there. Thanks, is there any chance that we will ever find out for sure? That's where all the evidence points. I doubt we'll ever have the technology to get anything to survive all the way to the core, but there are plenty of ways to collect evidence that don't require physically touching it. |
