The lawyer thought that would be the “ best bet if ANYONE WOULD SERVE AN EVICTION NOWADAYS” So the lady NEVER LET THESE PEOPLE ON HER PROPEY- they BROKE IN - and she didn’t know they were there until her carpenter could not get in to do work - that’s why it was empty - it needed some renovations The lawyer told us after the lady left - “This is becoming more and more common - squatters - and the police won’t put them out “ Makes you want to buy rentals huh? City landlords with properties in so-so neighborhoods are the ones getting hammered because they can't turn them into short-term rentals and their renters are not secure financially. Good response. I suspect a nefarious agenda behind short term rentals as well as long term. Golly, am I becoming a paranoid conspiracy theorist after 18 years here??? By working to find them good homes while you are still able, you are able to KNOW you got them in a good place, instead of trying to care for them, then things go south and then you find yourself heart broken because of having to "give them up" if you find yourself in a bad situation of either YOU or THEM. PLEASE know we love you, and are only telling you this because it will be easier to do if you do it where you are now, and know where to look for loving homes. Anonymous Coward User ID: 80696596 United States 09/21/2021 06:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Most just want to make a few bucks on their investments. There are bad landlords, sure, but landlords have to be careful because there are a hell of a lot more bad tenants. Let's face it, anybody who had a decent job the last few years has already purchased their home while interest rates were at historic lows. So who does that leave? A bunch of people who cannot manage their lives and money, perpetually out of work, drunks & addicts. Sure, there are a few good renters, like old people who can no longer maintain a home. Maybe a few young couples/singles saving up for a decent down payment. But most renters are messy, move in the middle of the night trying to scam their landlords, have no respect for others' property. I would never long-term rent a place unless I knew the people first. At least with short-term, if you get a bad one that trashes the place you have their credit card and can black-ball them on rental sites. |

You can maybe keep ONE cat or one dog (for protection), but seriously, you've GOT to think of your future and start to find good homes. Just want to add: For myself, I know I PRAY I outlive all my animals as I KNOW anyone who "promises" to take them and care for them probably WILL NOT once I pass. You wouldn't want to have to give up some animals in a strange town or state....or overnight because some nosy person saw too many animals in your camper or where ever you might be at the moment - thinking they are "helping" the pets out. Very sweet of you. God sent me these pets and God has a plan for us. "Aside from the small band of Forteans scattered around the world, nobody seems to notice all aspects of this phantasmagoria." That was already clear. Quoting: humbird This morning, Fauxcohantas introduced a bill to reinstate eviction moratoriums "as long as the pandemic lasts," but under the aegis of the HHS, Department of Health and Human Services. Because the Supremes said that the CDC did not have the authority. It's a libtard work around. Link: [link to news.yahoo.com (secure)] A few days ago, a Broward county liberal announced that his tenants would have to be vaccinated, and he didn't care what DeSantis legislated. I think he was encouraged to do this. Link to GLP thread a few days ago Thread: Florida Landlord Makes Vaccines Mandatory for Tenants Furhermore, Pelosi publically denounced capitalism: [link to news.yahoo.com (secure)] The "cancel rent" communist cry will never hurt Wall Street, or the megarich. It will only hurt the middle class. And the middle class seems to be living in cuckoo cloudland, waiting for NBC to announce that we are now a socialist (code word for communist) nation now. I had planned to retire on income from my teeny SSI and two small rentals and one airbnb over my garage. That was a pipedream. I am 66. If I survive the Great Reset, unvaxxed, a harsher lifestyle is in my future. Would happilly buy a mini camper and go nomad if it weren't for all of my rescue pets, and possible vax passports across state lines in the future. Might buy a small piece of agriculturally zoned land to park my camper, and fence for dogs etc. Crazy times. I am in the same boat. I own a condo in S.Fla and one more property that was inherited, and my plan was in a couple of years to collect SS, rent out both apartments, + some investment income, and move out west. Now I am questioning if I really want to be a landlord while the USA govt is obviously tilting toward full on communism. Same here. My Mom has COPD and is not well. I am the sole heir and own her home. I had plans as well to rent it out. It's in pristine condition, and nearly renovated. Unfortunately, I will end up selling it. THAT"s the one you should move into - with all your animals. Sorry, I'm reading this thread from the newest to oldest (once I read the original, first post), so my answers seem to be all over the place. |
