From a bipartisan viewpoint, which does not accurately depict the complex machinations of the current political clime, the only means for peace is abolition and destruction.

From the perspective of an outside observer with no political alignment, both sides want to destroy the USA to save "their nation".

In all seriousness, there are both good and bad principles, including the people behind them, on both sides.

Acceptance and respect of one another would go a long way to relieve the building tensions that everyone can feel.

Until we can master doing that, sometimes letting go of an "issue", by placing it on the backburner of life, is the best option to release the pressure before the cooker blows.

We all know there is another option that will tear this nation assunder, a moot endeavor, or going back to your ancestral homeland. So to all sides, Left, Right, and in between, I urge you to do those things previously mentioned. I like this country and so do you.
