If so, what was the addition of the heat of the cement on their poor little bodies?

Take a video of the temperature, recording the temperature of that ground cover under the conditions you described. That might make a nice video to play at the next PTA , or school board meeting. Facebok, or a local TV station might air it.

pretty standard when I was in competitive sports. 1 dude messes up. Usually the team pays. Makes that 1 goof wise up because the other mates will whoop him. Not sure if its "proper" but its definitely one way to discipline.

I had this kid, Alan, in my class 1st through 4th grade. We missed so many recesses because Alan did something and we all had to pay. I grew up thinking Alan was such a bad kid. Looking back, he just talked too much and goofed around. I don't remember him ever doing anything actually bad or mean. He turned out to be a really great guy.

I'm GenX. We LIVED in the fucking sun from dawn til dusk in mid-summer. I doubt any of these kids would have died from heat stroke in 5 minutes. We need to toughen the fuck up here.

I'm glad I could help! I also think it's wrong to punish all the children for something just a few did... although I know it's always been common practice ...but it doesn't make it right. Are you a Christian? I used curriculum called paces for my kids...I started to begin with bevsuse we moved to a rough area in Oklahoma City from Illinois...I couldn't afford a nice neighborhood...my son was just in 2nd grade and white with blonde hair ,he got beat up his very first day... mostly Mexicans ..he refused to go back and he always listened to me ,he was a great kid..so I knew it must be very bad for him to just flat out refuse to go and listen to me. I looked in the phone book ( lol this was 2001) and found this homeschool place ...it was cheap and affordable even for me... they used paces ...paces are common and even if you're not a Christian, you can skip the religious stuff in them...they also teach the importance of morals...things like honesty, integrity, etc with little stories and lessons...it's all self guided as long as they know how to read. You don't need to stand over them all the time...just give them tests at the end of each pace booklet and grade it... answers are provided. He loved it and so did I. You can buy these online yourself ... inexpensive,without signing up with the homeschool place. They are awesome. I ended up getting a great job before that...daycare paid for by the state...it was a great career opportunity with a new cell phone division of sprint at that time...but my kids suffered so much in the daycare I quit my job...I developed fibromyalgia soon after anyway and been sick since...so yeah...my best friend started taking her kids to daycare at six weeks of age...fuck that. I see a huge difference in how our kids turned out now that they are grown. I look back on those days now that were very hard to endure alone with no family or friends and raising my kids alone while very sick...but what I didn't realize is that those were some of the best days of my life ...I miss them. Good luck to you! Teach your children not to allow anyone to inject them with anything or keep secrets!!! So many parents hardly even know their kids because they are focused on their carreers...bad things happen when families aren't close and priorities aren't straight. There's nothing moral or legitimate about any of this.

This sounds like an excellent opportunity to teach your kiddo about the importance of proper hydration and what he/she can do to prepare for recess on hot days.

When my kiddo was young I made sure to lead by example and would include her in hydration routines before she and I would spend hours canoeing or cycling in the Texas heat.

It's as simple as adapt and overcome.
