User ID: 78018011 United States 09/17/2021 06:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My child is in 2nd grade, it's about 90 degrees outside and no shade. After lunch they go to recess. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80379140 When recess is over they have the kids lineup and take them inside. Today some children were talking when they were in line so they had everyone sit in the sun and wait there at least 5 minutes before they were allowed back inside. My child described it as torture. The children that were still talking were then forced to run a lap around the basketball courts. My question, is this form of punishment ok? My child wasn't even one of the ones talking. I spent 5 minutes outside in the direct sun today and I was sweating hard. But at least I could walk over into the shade if I wanted. That is what happens when they hire former marines or foot ball coaches. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you. Slake Blake |

Try working construction out in the sun with 20or 30 pounds of tools strapted to you in 100 degree weather. This is why kids are weak and stupid now...because parents are way to over protective. |

Doing it outside, in uncomfortable conditions, is dangerous and abuse. Like others said, you can take them out of there. I met a mother who homeschooled her kids once. They met other homeschooling parents, and formed a group, so the kids would go out every day. Last Edited by Daozen on 09/17/2021 06:19 PM Daozen appears to be mentally impaired, but harmless. Anonymous Coward User ID: 80884474 Canada 09/17/2021 06:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well it's not anything out of the ordinary but not very nice punishing the whole group like we are living under communism. I remember when I was in fourth grade some kids acting up in class instead of the teacher sending them to the principle office he decided to punish the whole class instead by making us sit in our seats the whole lunch period without lunch. I usually went home for lunch and my mother was worried when I didn't come home and when she found out she was very pissed off at the teacher. That was back in the 1980's so this crap about group punishment has been going on for a long time. |

I work in a school setting and this teacher abused her power by making the students uncomfortable. She or he sounds like they lack the ability to discipline a class without fear or anger, which means he/ she is not fit to educate your child. I wish more parents would stand up to shitty teachers and policies. I spoke out in a meeting yesterday after parents asked if their deaf child could have a mask excusal. I said yes, based on their diagnosis, and they should ask for it, and an administration official said they could not. Those parents should have said well I want it and they did not. Fight for your children!!! These people are not smart. Salty Potato |
