Let me tell you a story from a distant friend of mine - it has no end yet.

Single parent, working in a small travel agency.
Corona starts.
Due to worldwide gov restrictions, travel agency has no work for them anymore, has to send them home.
(with "shortworkmoney", 67% of your last income, but company has to pay part of social security insurance).

Months go by, still no traveling possible.
Company has to lay them off.
Friend has a very hard time finding a new job, because
-many people looking for new job and
-kindergarden is closed,too.
So has to apply for unemployment money nr1 (UE1)
(which is an insurance the worker pays a monthly fee for).

As this UE1 runs out (because you just get a number of months of it depending on how long you paid in before),
friend has to apply for unemployment money Nr2 (UE2).

Kindergarden is opening again for all, but closing down a month later for summer holidays 3 week.
So friend again can't find a new job as nowhere to put their child while they work.

But with UE2, friend has to apply for every job opportunity sent to them else they get the money shortened.
