Public Apology to the GLP community

Yesterday, as some of you may know, ol' Wharf Rat posted a thread which was offensive to the GLP community.

I mostly sincerely apologize.

For those of you who don't know, yesterday I copypasta'd a satirical story about the rollout of the new Apple iPhone, found here [link redacted, forbidden] by a certain conservative satire website with which many of you are familiar.

Some people here got the joke, others did not. The others were very, very upset at me. And in recognizance your upsetedness, I would prefer to apologize here publicly rather than reside in your bad graces for internet eternity. Which, depending on timeline we are living in, could be a very long time indeed.




Fact is, I enjoy the GLP community more than I enjoy almost all other social interaction which exists in the world around me, and for me, Wharf Rat, to betray your trust with an un-prefaced, un-linked piece of social commentary the way I did yesterday... well, I don't think that was very cool. Not cool at all. And I'm sorry I did it. And I'll try not to ever do it again.

For those who can forgive me, shame on yourselves. I believe it was JFK or Mark Twain who once said, 'You must always kick a man when he's down, or else he'll never learn.' Which is true enough, whoever said it first. Maybe it was David Crosby.

For those who cannot, please allot yourself an extra ten minutes at the salt-lick this evening. After all, electrolytes are the key to good livin'. (Hey, I'm not very good at public apologies okay? I'm working on it.)

And for anybody who has no idea what I'm talking about, I made a regrettable post, and then when called out on it I changed the title and the original message to try and hide the evidence, and then even deleted the comments--both laudatory and critical--all in an effort to cover my tracks. It was shameful and despicable.

Anyway, I'm sorry. Whether you accept that or not, I am.
