Why isn't there a 4K camera facing UPWARDS towards the starry night sky? That would have been a GLORIOUS live image in 4K on our 60-inch 4K TVs, many people have 4K video projectors and a 120-inch projector screen now. To not put a 4K camera that faces the night sky is a so disappointing. Seeing the stars and Moon would have been amazing. And I don't know about you, but if I was on that craft going at thousands of mile per hour with no way to jettison I would have been shitting myself but they looked so calm, carefree. And the way they are strapped in doesn't look maximally safe like you used to see in the 1960s of Gordo Cooper. And he fell asleep in his seat, or is that a myth? It's depicted in The Right Stuff. These people look calmer than Gordo Cooper and he was fearless. Not saying they are not on the craft, just wondering why they all look so calm even bored at time. The footage inside the craft looked so stable, no judder, is that realistic? It should be shaking all over the place, surely? Not saying this is fake, just... disappointing. Less than 3 million views is disappointing too. You'd think that it would have been around 50 million. I would just have liked to have seen a 4K camera facing the night sky And why wasn't Elon in the control room giving his thoughts live on the audio of the live-stream? Where was he? It's like Nixon not being a the Apollo 11 launch in 1969. What was Nixon doing that day? Where was Elon last night? Space deniers like this worthless piece of crap continue to prove that they know the least about the subject are commenting on. This dumbass thinks he's going to see a beautiful vista of stars in fast exposures with a 4K camera while on a rocket lighting up the sky with its engines. You rarely even see stars while filming launches like this through my telescope, let alone while you're right in the middle of it. Furthermore, they demonstrate that they didn't know that there was an abort system, even though I talked about it in this thread. So not only do they not know the subject, they didn't even bother to read the thread before replying. What is the use in talking to these idiots? They don't even read what you say, they will never learn anything, so the only thing left to do is to simply mock them. That's why I do it, because you don't listen, and there's no value in talking to you, so I might as well just get some entertainment value out of it. |

You are a dumbass who doesn't realize the rocket had a yo-yo despin mechanism. That is why it appeared to suddenly stop rotating. It didn't hit anything. I've posted this video so many times, and still I get idiots like you posting on my threads, pretending I haven't even seen the fucking video after I interviewed the guy who built and launched it. And yes, there are plenty of man-made objects that I've tracked well above 73 miles. I've posted this in the thread already so again, you didn't even read the fucking thread before posting. Now despite the fact that it is a complete waste of time talking to you, I do get enjoyment out of owning you like this, so the real reason I ban ACs from my threads it's because of all the doxing and "adult film" bombing I usually receive. It has nothing to do with your ignorant arrogance thinking that you have something over me. I do wish I could grab you by the neck and force you to see the space station through my telescope while it tracks it and measures the altitude again, so I can listen to you cry as your entire worldview crumbles. |

Quoting: MonkeyWrangler I was a space cadet growing up, trust me. But this launch has me questioning the whole thing. #1- While watching the launch, I get they are seated backwards, but I am confused about their seat belts. There was multiple times when they were showing them and they were loose. #2 -Still with the seat belts, why are they not locked in with seat belts on a roller coaster ? To secure them in, in case of an event ? - But I guess I could answer this my self as you are going to say the g-force keeps them in place.. but still #3 - When they launched... and were experiencing g force.. how could their arms and hands move so freely ? #4 - When they got in to "space" with zero gravity, how come only the teddy bear was moving ... they were in the beginning letting their arms "float" , but their legs were not "floating" and then all of a sudden their arms did not float and they were fist pumping like before. #5- Can you explain the plastic looking back right behind the rocket, I am sure it is heat resistant...but.. wow.. I am seriously not trolling, and although I was a space nerd growing up, I am confused. Ok I am trolling now because I really want you to answer these questions.. Like seriously what am I missing. You have answered questions before and after mine.. like WTF ? I consumed too much alcohol in celebration to answer that many questions in one post. In general the answer is simple, your preconceived notions don't dictate reality. If someone's rubber boots are sitting up against a foot pedestal they're not going to float off that necessarily unless they release the pressure in their muscles. Just because their arms are floating doesn't mean they can't fist bump. Just because they hit three or four g's doesn't mean they can't move their arms. And the seatbelts didn't look that loose to me, but the forces they experience both in launch and potential splashdown are all through the chest anyway. What plastic looking back? You mean the nozzle? It's not actually plastic... K thanks... no sorry it was the black plastic looking bag thing that was moving and it was attached to the booster.. |

Oh it's actually reflective, it's almost certainly for thermal control. In space there's no air, so there's no heat transfer by convection. You can prevent really hot parts from transferring heat to other unconnected parts by shielding them from the infrared radiation. In other words, something as simple as mylar foil. |

I thought were going to get amazing 4K footage 24/7 on YouTube that we could watch on our big TVs and absorb the human drama and cosmic wonder. There's so much crap stuff on TV these days that you'd think that such an event would be exploited for maximum public exposure and financial profit. Not everyone has Netflix and it's 4K stream often sucks as they dropped the bitrate down to 16mbps last year which is not enough for 4K on a huge screen, you need about at least 50mbps. 4K Blu-ray is around 80mbps. Anyway, it was kinda cool seeing this event, just wish there was more amazing footage online. |
