Do those toronto cops still support showing up en masse to shut down a barbeque who was resisting the bullshit? Only when it affects their job do they give a shit.

Actually, the ones with their arms behind their backs and legs apart are standing in the 'at ease' position, not attention. At ease is a military drill position, as is the 'attention' position.

I saw the video and noticed that one of the event organizers was showing people how to spread themselves out by extending their right arms at shoulder height and touching the shoulders of those standing beside them and then moving. This is the 'right dress' movement.

By virtue of being paramilitary organizations, all police forces in Canada, RCMP included, teach their members how to do military foot drill. Paramedics and firefighters are generally not taught drill movements. However, some paramedics and firefighters are ex-military or ex-police and would be familiar with these drill movements.

So, the ones who were already standing at ease and properly dressed off were likely police officers.

Police officers in Canada are expected to maintain a high standard of physical fitness in order to remain employed.

The rare few cops you see who are a bit overweight are plainclothes and desk duty officers who never go out on patrol.
