Houston area Quoting: Maddrummerboy Any economy - national or local - is very split up or fragmented. Think of how in most metro areas, you'll find neighborhoods that are always bustling and doing well while a few miles away, you'll find areas on the so-called wrong side of the tracks. Same thing applies to an entire country. Wilson166 |

They usually have most everything as they are much larger than a regular Kroger and rake in more money so get filled first. We went in the afternoon, giving them a chance to get everything re-stocked after the weekend. There were HUGE gaps without merchandise all over the store and haven't seen it that sparsely stocked before- even after people hitting it before snow storms, etc. |

Quoting: CingC Off of mandated shots ( cause that did not go over well) and they were used to cover Afghanistan , etc... long list we all know. So the grocery stores have always been basically the mafia. They are working for Joe. Trying to scare you more. That's a good point. There's a conglomerate in NJ that functions kind of like that, and all old school Italian, NYC and North Jersey distributors, too. I've heard from a cattle rancher that the USDA inspector won't cooperate to inspect cattle for mad cow prior to slaughter, due to COVID. As far as imports go, ships are backed up at the ports on the West Coast; Zerohedge posted a chart about it. I would assume the Feds here again are inserting wedges into the gears. |

I have walked into these stores with 12 pellets of product sitting in the back because their night crew quit because no one wants to work for $12 an hour and no insurance until you work 1000 hours, lol |

I boycott them at the beginning of the plandemic. Stay away from big corporate as much as possible. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79422414 Kroger’s is one of the few stores that doesn’t mandate wearing masks or making their employees get jabbed. Wrong. Kroger nationally MANDATES MASKED EMPLOYEES EVEN IN IDAHO starting September 10. Fred Meyer Grocery is fully masked and very shorthanded. Big trouble coming when kroger demands vax or nasal swabs. Think they are short handed now? Big walkout coming when kroger tries to satisfy bidens 100 or more employee required Vax. . |

Many of these establishments are UNION run...they have CONTRACTS that are renewed every two to three years ...Target department stores can have a steady increase base pay but union shops like Kroger or Safeway are limited by the settled contracts. If Target has a base starting pay of $18.50 and can't attract new employees, they can simply offer more money...union retail establishments cannot because of their union contract. There's simply a shortage of drivers, warehouse and night-crew workers... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5184682 oh, the irony. union contracts keeping wages too low. |

I have walked into these stores with 12 pellets of product sitting in the back because their night crew quit because no one wants to work for $12 an hour and no insurance until you work 1000 hours, lol HEY ME TO!! I've been in the grocery supply business for 20 years. HERE'S WHAT I THINK. All of these companies are having Class A CDL driver shortages. I'm betting at this time Kroger's supply chain IS AT LIMIT. And guess what is coming up VERY soon. The holidays. Have you ever worked at a grocery store during the run up to Thanksgiving??? It's a nightmare at the best of times. Logistically, and practically speaking. So kroger knows I'm betting they just wont be able to cover the increased volume of the holidays. This is all the fault of governments. INVENTORY TAX Grocery stores used to keep all their backstock in the back, NOW to avoid inventory tax they ship basically exactly what they'll need, and try to avoid shipping more to the stores than that. Even if they wanted to go ahead and ship a TON of extra shit, 85% of these stores are not big enough in the back areas to hold all of this. At a local wally mart I service it's NOTHING to see, candy, produce, water, regular groceries, BEING KEPT IN THE MILK COOLERS. Because they don't have the space in the back, AND... they dont have enough employees to stock it anyways. |

Pure speculation but my gut says they will make things tough on Montana and Rocky Mountain red states. Staunch resistance to Government bullshit in the mountain states. Mountain valley highways are easy arteries to cut off. Strategically speaking, a military power could easily stop supplies into the entire inland empire from Spokane WA east to the continental divide in Montana. Environmentalist already have helped block and gate off thousands of miles of secondary roads and forest service roads through the mountains just through tree hugger animal lover policies. If you wanted to stop anything from getting in or out of western Montana it could easily be done. We are in Krogers distribution area too, btw. |

User ID: 80219227 Finland 09/14/2021 12:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Kroger: ‘Organized crime’ among contributors to higher food prices Quoting: Anon Braveheart Kroger grocery chain will raise food prices from 2-3% this year, more than what they expected, Rodney McMullen, the Kroger grocery chain’s chief executive officer, says. On Kroger’s earnings report call on Friday, the chief financial officer, Gary Millerchip, said higher supply chain costs, rising levels of theft, and increasing food prices all will play roles. “We are being more aggressive,” Millerchip said on the call. “Our general counsel is also working with some trade associations to try to start working on it in a broader group, not just Kroger-specific, when you look at organized crime.” Cincinnati-based Kroger touts itself as one of the world’s largest retailers with more than 2,700 stores in 35 U.S. states. [link to www.wishtv.com (secure)] An analysis from what is likely their perspective: They probably see the trajectory heading towards the jab being required to shop for groceries (whether it goes that far is beside the point, it's probably what they're expecting). While the reality is the unjabbed are among the most civil people in the country, Kroger corporate might be expecting higher crime. It is true that desperate people do desperate things. Food shortages + restrictions against buying it. The demons are incredibly desperate to get this jab into us. "Take the jab for your health or we'll starve you to death! See how much we care about you and your family?!" I bet Kroger's "being more aggressive against organized crime" involves setting-up infra with that in mind.
