The other one is setup like a mall. Almost the entire south wing is empty. Basically half the mall.
The other mall used to have 70-something outlets in it. There are only 6 left! I expect this one will shut down by the end of the year. It's dead, Jim.
Then you have the local shopping centers. Pretty much every one of these has several vacancies, both large and small units. Even the OfficeMax vacated. Quoting: Constant Parad0x Same experience here. I was at a major outdoor mall a few days ago and was dismayed to see even some of its popular restaurants had finally given up and permanently closed. Those businesses were running on fumes several months ago, when they had at least a few patrons being accommodated in makeshift outdoor dining areas. But that apparently wasn't enough to cover their expenses and make up for the loss of sales volume. The restaurant I was in was also very slow. Moreover, it was a prime weekend night too. Even sadder, that shopping center wasn't exactly booming even before Covid hit. Pre-2020, Amazon and economic downsizing, anyone?
