Cumbre Vieja volcano post eruption phase! Time to say goodbye for volcano-thank you for all support :)

These "vents" are all part of Cumbre Vieja...it is the one volcano in southern La Palma...the caldera is to the north but it's dormant.... The problem is in multiple vents opening means a longer and more intense eruption in all probability and for the rest of the World more potential destabilization of the already weakened Western flank of La Palma...

The Red Dot to the right I believed was vent snapped on September 30th also

It's a sizable island, which is growing slowly by the week.

Most of the lava until recently was flowing over same places.

He has interesting comments and feels the magma output is closer to the higher estimates (in comment section).

He also says once the magma out/lava flow drops below 5/sec (?) the vents will solidify and activity would cease or drastically reduced. Could be a while yet.

I think it is part of the same one, but in any case, it means eruption is broadening in size and scope, bad news for locals as now even bigger area might get badly damaged, by Pyroclastic or Lava flows..

The cameras angles can be deceiving though.

I think of it like Yellowstone (not that Cumbre Vieja is a supervolcano but it can erupt in different places far away from each other).

Isn't all the vent the same volcano? If so, doesn't that mean more and more pressure is being released which is a good thing so that it doesn't explode in a horrible way??

First time I've ever seen it mix languages, it has always responded in whatever language a request or question was made in. So "I don't know" is not odd but the response itself was.

Someone please explain the difference (in the "feel of it) to us novices of "intrusion of magma" vs"just earthquakes."

How does one (novice like me) know the difference?

Not really....yes, more "pressure" (magma) released BUT that means there is more underground magma that needs to be released....more magma wanting to become lava is not ever a good thing...well, at least for humans in it's way...

I remember the Slide's simulation shown a lot of eruptions along the Cumbre Vieja in a straight line to the south

the magma rising produces what is called harmonic tremors and they are signed a bit different in the seismographs. Also a volcanic eruption (with a shake) is signed differently too than a plain earthquake.
