FedEx has been caught stealing firearms shipments. I wouldn't use them for anything important.

Make a FedEx account, have your deliveries held at the local office.

That's what I do if I'm ordering anything of value that is shipped through them.

As Fed Ex looked ahead they could see people would be losing their food deliveries to roaming hoards.zombies

There might be something to that. A lot of food companies use Fed Ex. I guess having to pick up a package isn't a big deal if you live in a city/suburban area. But for us in rural America, it might mean an hour or two drive to the nearest office.

All this is doing is making packages that require a signature be signed for and not making covid an excuse to avoid it.

All you fedex haters out there, you can call fedex up and have them send 50 large cardboard boxes (or small) for free if you ever need any boxes for storage or whatever. Dropped off at your house.

That signature requirement is a $5.00 extra charge.

Darn!
 Quoting: nutmeg

You're kidding?

If that's true, I'd tell them to send it back and get your credit. Refuse delivery and get a refund.

Refuse for the extra charge you weren't told about. Fuck em... unless you really need it today!

These little things add up.

If you start complying... it will never end.

My hatred for fedex is about to be rekindled.

Fedex drivers are notorious for slapping a 'we missed you' sticker on your door without ever knocking. They are assholes.

Even better - I ordered a circular saw and Fed-Ex delivered the box. Empty. Torn open. "You have to contact the seller"

Was cool tho, Walmart sent out a new saw next day delivery.

fedex ships the quest diagnostic covid kits. no way they are going to be able to do this and handle the influx ofnall employees testing every week. its not working as it is.

this is by design. employeers will be sick of late covid tests and will mandate vax.

I haven't read the whole thread, but here is my theory on why they are doing this. I believe that the unvaxxed will soon be shut out of ecommerce sites. If all of the carriers revert to requiring signatures, then the health authorities can use the excuse that it puts the delivery workers in danger. That is my extremely cynical take.

Probably just due to porch piracy and INR claims. Mail fraud has been out of control the last few years.

I'm surprised none of these shipping companies offer a personal delivery locker the customer can keep chained up on-site. Use NFC from their scanner devices to open the lid and drop the package in. Should cut down on incorrect deliveries as well because a serial could be programmed in and the box won't open if it doesn't match the delivery address.

But how can they throw the package at the house when they have to be close to you now for a signature? I bet they gonna be really upset about this one.
