In Canada, we have a seperate disability pension from the Old Age Pension. To claim a disability pension, one has to "qualify" as in having an actual disability & cannot work. But everyone else gets the Old Age Pension from 65yrs forward. There is also a seperate Welfare Program for those young ones who can't get a job or single Moms who can't work etc. Seems we have different programs here from the US. |
