They planned today so that is was another subtle slap in the face to Americans. But at least now people will start going back to work so the businesses can open again or start functioning fully.

For decades now, the government and the media presents the "Federal Unemployment Rate" as if it gauges unemployment.

That by definition is a total deception.

The government also reports "Federal Labor Force Participation Rate", which by definition does gauge unemployment. As of 2016 was under 63%, which means 37%+ were unemployed. In the past 20 years, I can count on 1 hand how many times I've heard that mentioned in the media, and never by any politician.

Since covid, you know real unemployment has substantially increased.

Agreed, I just got a new job, I start tomorrow. Glad I was able to get in there before the rush of people trying to get jobs. Been trying to get into this aviation company for 10 years, finally got my chance. This is a company once you get in you never leave, if everything works out I'll be able to put my son through college and work there until I retire. So excited about tomorrow.
