Question about COVID: Would your plan change if you only had one lung?
My man only has one lung. He survived stage 3 lung cancer, chemo, radiation and a pneumonectomy plus removal of all nearby lymph nodes at age 37 and has been cancer free for 9 years.

He lost his bigger lung (everyone's right lung is bigger).

The cancer thing is ancient history. He doesn't even mention it and it doesn't factor into daily life.

He works in construction, outdoors. He does everything and more ... because he lives life to the fullest (best attitude ever). Only swimming exhausts him ... but he still goes in the water, it's just a little calmer now.

He takes no medications or supplements and is in perfect health. He was never on oxygen or anything.

He only goes for his regular physicals now, and the last advice that stuck was from his surgeon ... "live your life just like you normally would - you don't need to do anything special."

In 9 years, he hasn't had a cold.

If that was you or your spouse ...would you do anything differently?

He is the ONLY reason I ever even THINK about COVID. He jokes that he'd get the shot if I really want him to ... and I say that I'd get it first just to make sure it's safe for him.

We have three daughters at home aged 9-15. They go to school. He is unconcerned with them getting vaxed or wearing masks or not. He hugs and loves them every day just like normal.

I freak out though ... every time I sneeze I have a mild panic attack.

The ONLY reason I'd EVER get vaxxed is for his well-being, but he doesn't feel compelled to do it AT ALL.

Would you all change your plan if you lived in our house?

I'm genuinely curious because we just keep going like this, occasionally using saline spray if someone is sniffling. But when I articulate to people that we haven't done anything and they know he has only one lung, they are horrified.

Expecting a vaccine, even from the very same vial, to act the same in two different people is a mistake.

So I would take that out of the equation.

They are hammering the world with propaganda, guilt trips, shaming, and threats to livelyhood.

Stop articulating to people. I think right now it is important to keep your personal choices and information PRIVATE.

He is a grown man, and should have the freedom of choice.

Asking the opinion of others is great, but ultimately you should follow your own intuition.

Thank you. hf

I think that's what we're doing - following our intuition.

His family isn't pressuring him either ... even though they all got vaxxed (after a brother's family had a nasty turn with COVID).

They know he's going to do what he does and no one is going to convince him to do anything.

It's only when I see stories of "healthy" people needing to be hospitalized that I start to be afraid ... but then he'll say something like ... "That's why the idea is to stay out of the hospital!"

He doesn't talk about it but I think his ordeal gave him a perspective that's different from others. The fear of death is gone - he dealt with that already.
