And with that I am satisfied that everyone survived the storm and there are not 40 people needing rescue. Facts are facts. Even here at the lunatic fringe. Sheesh. |

Also you can go on Facebook grand isle and look at the comments from the mayor and the fire department. I like a good conspiracy as well as anyone but when you are talking about lives I like facts. |

Quoting: First Born Son I am headed to Grand Isle… there are over 40 ppl missing down there. Trying to get redirected to Baton Rouge. I have a feeling things are a bit worse south of New Orleans than the media is reporting. Remember Katrina and Andrew… We “missed a bullet” was the initial report. Moved to ATL six months ago; I feel like I’m stuck here, too. ATL is not GA! Get out while you still can!!!!! ATL Is in fact in Georgia.. but yea you should still get out |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76438986 Another person says the coast guard flew over grand isle as there is no road access currently and that the crew on the ground gave a thumbs up and were trying to clear the roads. And with that I am satisfied that everyone survived the storm and there are not 40 people needing rescue. Facts are facts. Even here at the lunatic fringe. Sheesh. I am seeing reports that a family member has posted on facebook that they are all fine and survived. I don't know them personally and I'm not on facebook so no way for me to confirm what is being said on facebook. One of the articles that I found said that someone saw them from a helicopter but weren't able to rescue them right away. Another article said that they rescued a separate group that were in a hotel on Grand Isle. Why didn't they get the first responders at the multiplex too? Some funny things going on with the story. I especially thought it was odd that the police chief told them on the phone call to "make it stop." Why would a man who lives in Louisiana and has likely gone through multiple storms tell someone to "make it stop" when discussing a hurricane? Just doesn't make sense unless he was completely panicked? Or does he know something else? Either way, not good. |

Quoting: Ladye Jayne Smith I would suggest going on a low dose antibiotic right away. The risk of things like cholera and dysentry look serious if all I am reading and hearing about the long term lack of electricity and basic hygiene are true. Get some bottles of charcoal caps and some colloidal silver. activated charcoal is great for anything stomach! it used to be called the universal antidote. Great suggestion. He said many residents regretted that decision, although no one was seriously hurt. [link to kvia.com (secure)] First time I've seen that almost 100 residents stayed behind on Grand Isle. Sounds like the first responders are okay. |

You should have your 3-day bag with you, and a case with certain comms/power equipment. If it wasn't issued to you, then you had a voucher to go pick it up on your own.
