Picked up a shift on the covid general ward (not ICU)
I took some time to go through charts and look at recent outpatient notes and stuff. RN's have access to all patient info, because we need to in order to do our jobs.

Every single patient was vaccinated. Every single one.

They were all elderly, obese, with multiple co-morbidities such as CHF, CKD, DM, etc....the usual chronic illnesses that debilitate them and have always put them in the hospital frequently.

The regular staff were like "Gee I don't understand this" even after I tried to explain it to them. Clueless.

I couldn't even believe that they were all vaccinated. Some are in with flu-like illnesses and pneumonia on top of their chronic illnesses, others are in with exacerbations of their usual chronic illnesses, others have weird stuff going on post covid shot. There are many admissions for weakness, and falls with this population all the time and it is no different now.

In addition to this, the head of maternal-fetal medicine is demanding that all patients (pregnant obviously) and staff that work in that department have the shot.

I am picking up lots of shifts before they terminate me for declining the shot.

If I get anything else or you have any questions let me know.

I talked to a nurse from the Kansas City area.. north of kansas city itself, which if you know Kansas City you will know exactly what city I am talking about.

99% of those in their icu wards are vaccinated.

My neighbor, a fully vaccinated icu nurse here in Houston, says 99% of the patients here are NOT vaccinated.

Re: Picked up a shift on the covid general ward (not ICU)
Same thing last night. I picked up an 11 to 7 shift on the covid medsurg floor.

Eight patients all "covid positive".

7 out of 8 were elderly. 7 out of 8 were obese, and all of the elderly had past medical history lists a mile long that included copd, chf, cardiac issues, etc.........all the stuff that gets them readmitted all the time since long before covid started. 4 of them were admitted with weakness and falls and then found to be covid positive. One came in with a GI bleed. One had covid as an OP and now has a pulmonary embolism and this one had the vaxx too.

Not one was running temp. It was a pretty easy night so I don't have crybaby stories for you or tik tok.

The eighth patient was my odd one out. Age 32, no past medical history except for extreme obesity. Tested covid positive as an outpatient and came in with shortness of breath. She was pretty chill, only on 2 liters or so of oxygen. They were giving her remdesivir but her labs this morning showed she was going into liver failure and the doctor freaked out and then discontinued that med.

My husband had a severe case of flu/ pneumonia at age 32, which was many, many years ago (2004) and he nearly did not make it. I am still not convinced on the covid thing. I think these people just have the usual respiratory issues that have always been, and the covid test is positive no matter what. Obese people are frequently short of breath. But they get a covid test and then they get that shitty protocol with remdesivir which causes actual harm.

Oh, and ALL WERE VACCINATED.

clappa

Almost like they are trying to cover up what happens when a person abuses their body for a lifetime. Maybe it is being done so people don't question our entire medical approach to health.

even though there are some here desparately trying to convince people otherwise ....i don't know what kind of sick weirdo does that, (they have every right to do what they want with their bodies) but to go out there and lie and try and convince others of it, indicates some deep seated issues and brings a heavy load of karma upon it.

To perhaps shine some light on this mystery:

If you get sick within 14 days of getting vaccinated it is considered the vaccine didn't take yet, so you get marked down as unvaccinated.

And the moment they start demanding boosters, all the vaccinated will be considered unvaccinated again until they take it.

Re: Picked up a shift on the covid general ward (not ICU)
We have Covid going through our house right now. Started with my 10y/o daughter she had Strep symptoms and has gotten it bad in the past so I got her tested for strep and of course Covid and she popped + for Covid. She ran a very mild fiver, slight sore throat and thats it. Her twin brother ran a 103 fever but that's it other than that he's fine. The 5 y/o popped a mild fever under 100 and no other symptoms. I have run an on and off fever for a few days mostly around 100 last night up to 103 which some ibuprofen brought down. I've had chills and body aches but nothing more than the everyday flu (this is my 2nd time with covid same deal last time). MY wife who also had this before is running a mild fever but extreme exhaustion, sleeping alot but O2 saturation is fine, she seems the same as last time but she got the J&J shot a few moths ago to keep her job (medical field) so it doesn't seem to be doing a whole hell of a lot for her.

I think we had 18 or 20 (not much for our size hosp) and of them 75% were vaxxed. However, they are also surviving covid through remdesivir and o2.

Thanks OP. Question: what state are you in? And if it's a big state, what region (i.e., 'south' Florida, metro, upstate, that sort of thing) without getting too specific.

I was told that only 4 out of 117 ICU patients here are covid right now, and that they are vaccinated. The number of ICU covid patients has been less than 2%. An ICU nurse took and posted their census information and tracking on this stuff and uploaded it to a site, where there is an account for shot refusers working at this hospital. We are going to be fired soon anyway.

I am in the North East.
