Dr. A, by that AC's reckoning the photographs my phone takes are not actual images, rather graphics approximations. It uses four different imaging elements to create the image: one 108MP Wide-angle Camera, one 12MP Ultra Wide Camera and two 10MP Telephoto Cameras, one of which is operating in HDR mode to create a single photograph. It then stitches them all together to yield the finished image.
