Dozens dead so far across multiple states with many homes and businesses under water, lots of missing persons... and many still trapped. Yet, DEAD SILENCE about this on GLP? Why? New Orleans 980k in blackout .Update:8am09/02 Ida off NE coast, Tornadoes in PA,NJ, NYC flooded Latest from the GFS weather model: As was mentioned a couple of pasges ago, rain to affect Louisiana next week. A storm looks to develop off the coast of Louisiana before making its way to Florida. A few days after that another system could develop in the gulf near to Mexico/Texas. There is more uncertainty for this one due to it being two weeks away. But at the moment it shows the system moving north then the steering collapse stalls it over Louisiana and Texas for a couple days which could mean we're talking easily in excess of 20 inches of rain widespread if that were to happen. https://imgur.com/LdflUoX |

I don't believe people should be dependent on the government, but it makes me so angry when I think of the trillions of dollars wasted on other things yet there are no resources to help American citizens after a large scale natural disaster. |

New Orleans 980k in blackout .Update:8am09/02 Ida off NE coast, Tornadoes in PA,NJ, NYC flooded The above three micro-anecdotes along with the macro-debacle of Afghanistan aren't malarkey, are they? They portend a future of purposely dropped calls for a humanity in need but, in the end, irrelevant. This is what the world looks like as the great reset unfolds. With over-arching international governance, individual responsibility wanes by design. If the ruling world elites don't care, why should the average person? Lawn signs sporting the vacuous "hate has no home here" are easy privileged virtue-signaling, because personal responsibility has no home there, either. As an ever-macro governing class assumes more and more responsibility for the collective us, their expanding reach exceeds their shrinking grasp — so, like the bored 911 operator, they hit disconnect or press auto-reply: this is not a working number. New Orleans 980k in blackout .Update:8am09/02 Ida off NE coast, Tornadoes in PA,NJ, NYC flooded There are lots of tents in the NSU stadium parking lot - I think they are NG. FEMA sucks- I mean come on, people have been through a hurricane and some are still out of town evacuees, others are in shelters. If you go to apply for help, they want birth certificates, social security cards, etc., insurance info. I can see asking for picture id but as if 99% of people evacuating will think to bring these with them. Last Edited by abrock on 09/05/2021 06:11 PM |

New Orleans 980k in blackout .Update:8am09/02 Ida off NE coast, Tornadoes in PA,NJ, NYC flooded Yesterday accu weather reported that more than 50 were drowned in NJ, Pa, NY etc. and that the number would likely increase as the waters receded. They said one main thoroughfare the water was nearly up to the overpass above it. I've never heard of flooding on that scale before. I also read that actually half of New Jersey is a peninsula. So it is far more prone for different reasons than other areas. Was hoping the OP or someone can give a more recent update about the Ida disaster in the Northeast. In some ways it seems to have been more catastrophic than even areas in Louisiana. Thank you |
