So noticed something interesting this morning. Went out looking for some supplies for friends. Decided I would try Walmart against my better judgement.

I pulled in to the parking lot and it looked open. People walking around, but most of them were wearing the Walmart vests. Sheriff's vehicle was there, but then there were also these black/dark colored SUVs. I believe they said Bronson security. Not positive. After an internet search, I think it might have been Brosnan security. I should have written it down but I was on a mission to find specific supplies.

Anyway I go to park and one of the Walmart employees walked past my window. She motioned to me and said they weren't open. I guess they are just getting ready to open? Strange.

Makes sense. I'm trying to focus on those of my friends and family that need help right now. Can't focus too much on just how many people need help. Gave a donation to Cajun Navy and then just have to try and do my small part within my sphere.

Trying not to think about the fact that my job might be in jeopardy. Already thought through what I would do if my employer mandates the experimental gene therapy, so I can execute that plan if needed.

Ok proud Mama here…this is my sons area and I’m pretty sure his crew got this up and going or helped. Today is my first day back to work. Lines are forever long at the stations this morning. I’m on half tank but I’m going nowhere but work and home.

In all of this chaos I have to say it’s been a blessing going through it with you guys. Hopefully I can report back anything I’m seeing or hearing this afternoon.

Drill ship crew in gulf says they were not evacuated for Hurricane Ida, still stranded with no rescue in sight

Over 100 men are stranded on a drill ship after suffering through Hurricane Ida while in the Gulf of Mexico.

They say the companies who were supposed to evacuate them before the storm hit never did.

Crew members on Noble’s Globetrotter II drill ship saw they were forced to ride out horror-filled hours of Hurricane Ida on the ship in the Gulf of Mexico over 100 miles from Louisiana’s shore.

A crew member, who is choosing to stay anonymous, says they’re still stuck on the ship and don’t know when help is coming.

They say Noble Corporation and Shell were supposed to evacuate them. They never did.

Someone on FB said they just drove back Friday m TX last night and there was no gas from Baton Rouge to Slidell

As an Oilfield wife I find this disturbing and unforgivable. Absolutely disgusting! It seems they would have learned from what happened not so long ago. No excuse!!! Thank God they made it.

Ida DID deviate from her projected path. She was supposed to go through Baton Rouge but turned north somewhere around Raceland, LA which took her just outside of NOLA. If Ida had held to her path, BR would have been hit hard and NOLA and north shore would have only received mild effects.
