I broke a toe

What should I do?

It honestly made me laugh. I've never broken a bone! It hurt initially but when I looked it seemed "fine." I didn't know how bad it was until taking my socks off before getting in bed.

I was going to let my dogs out and one cut in front of me quickly mid stride and my toe caught her back leg. She was perfectly fine but I heard the crunch and it hurt pretty bad (high pain tolerance, this really wasn't too bad but ya know).

It's on my right foot, second toe in from pinky.

It's black blue and purple on both sides and the nail got ripped off probably from my sock.

My body definitely notices it.

It's more itchy and warm/swollen than anything.

I have work Friday, pretty big job, maybe one before then as well... Shit.

I want to stay far away from a doctor but what if it gets infected?

They'll put me on a ventilator and fentanyl for a broken toe!
