AC/DC - Its A Long Way To The Top If Ya Wanna Rock And Roll | |
ACDC User ID: 256835 Australia 01/15/2008 12:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Most people outside Australia don't have a clue as to what AC/DC means in Aussie vernacular. It is a jingoism from the 1970s and if you say someone is "AC/DC" it means they are bisexual... seriously.. When Angus and Malcolm Young set up the band in the seventies, they deliberately chose the title to be typical aussie tongue in cheek... fabulous... i love their music btw... |

Quoting: ACDC 256835I thought it meant Alternate Current Direct Current. Malcolm and Angus Young have a sister named Margaret and they saw this on her sewing machine. Hence all the electric references like High Voltage, Powerage and lightning bolt. It is a British reference to call a bisexual ACDC. They thought about changing their names after they heard that. Love this song! |
