They probably all had flu that got into pneumonia, making them perfect targets for the psychopaths. I've read that once they label people as "COVID", they're denied the normal treatments for pneumonia (antibiotics and, sometimes, a short course of steroids) and they sure as hell wouldn't get the stuff you mentioned which also seem to very successfully treat pneumonia.
