Maybe what we call God is
God is a quantum temporal attractor at the end of time that is the last creation of man before his final destruction of self. We send God backwards in time to reset our past and that event is what we perceive as the Big Bang. This is not our first reset.

Meh. Needs a little tweaking but the general idea is there. Man builds AI, AI becomes God, God goes back in time to create Man.

I really think it is something like this.

God doesn't exist....now.......yet.....

The way a person sees God is what they think goodness is, and how they should be. That's why it's always the angry and hateful people that have the vengeful, angry God.

We need to relearn what the purpose of God is and reapply ourselves to discovering/creating Him in our image of the most perfect Creator. It is a mirror at the ends of time and space and we are approaching and receding from the face of God.

So if you feel like he is left behind you... turn around.

From a certain perspective, yeah.
